ERIC AND AURÉLIEN PIFFAUT CREATE FAMILLE PIFFAUT VINS & DOMAINES.

Famille Piffaut Vins & Domaines becomes the new identity of the Veuve Ambal group. These strategic directions are supported by Éric and Aurélien Piffaut, the fifth and sixth generations to run the family business since its creation. They perpetuate a history whose success was initially built on sparkling wines. The name change reflects the growing importance of Grands Vins de Bourgogne in the group’s strategy. Having become a key player in the Burgundy wine world, the aim today is to affirm this anchorage with the signature Famille Piffaut Vins & Domaines.
A HISTORICAL BOURGUIGNON ANCHORAGE
The family’s winegrowing history began in 1820, when the Ninot family founded a fine wine house in Burgundy. A few years later, Charles Ninot took it over and gave it his name. On his advice, his widowed sister Marie launched the Veuve Ambal sparkling wine house in Rully in 1898. Very quickly, the reputation and business grew. Over the generations and through acquisitions, the company expanded into the Côte Chalonnaise with André Delorme in 2005, then into the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits in 2010 with Prosper Maufoux and his wide range of appellations. Finally, in 2015, the family acquired Château de Saint-Aubin and its prestigious Premiers and Grands Crus terroirs. Today, the vineyards cover 280 hectares, making the Piffaut family one of the largest owner-growers in Burgundy.
THE SPECIALIST IN EFFERVESCENT WINES
The spearhead of the Piffaut family, Veuve Ambal has grown steadily since its creation, thanks to its market share in French supermarkets and its international expansion. Today, Veuve Ambal is the leader in Crémant de Bourgogne, producing 8 of the appellation’s 20 million bottles annually. The Piffaut family extended this expertise beyond Burgundy, acquiring Rivarose in Salon-de-Provence in 1998. Its IGP Méditerranée sparkling wines have become true ambassadors for the bubbles of the South of France, exporting all over the world.
KNOW-HOW, VALUES

The Piffaut family has succeeded in rallying loyal partners around its values, both in France and abroad. Backed by the expertise of its teams, made up of men and women with an entrepreneurial spirit, it capitalizes on the high quality of its wines, the modernity of its production tools and its commitment to sustainable vineyard management. Exigence, authenticity and boldness are the values that characterize the new Famille Piffaut Vins & Domaines entity.
