RED CARPET

Cannes under the lens of Thierry Chabannis.
Collections of the Nicéphore Niépce Museum, Chalon-sur-Saône

The Seventh Art is only a little over a hundred years old, but it’s a world in its own right, with rituals that are already immutable. The Cannes Film Festival is one of them. For over seventy years, every spring, filmmakers, actors and other industry specialists have gathered on the Croisette to discover, or help others discover, what tomorrow’s cinema will be made of. The stars make the obligatory red-carpet appearance and climb the steps under the watchful eye of fans and photographers. Thierr y Chabanis is a bit of both. For several years now, he has been mingling with the crowds and devoting a week to this photographic hunt for the stars. Here, he gives us the best moments.
